Sports Minister attends PSA World Tour Finals 2022

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, attended the final of the Eight Greats Squash Championship hosted by Egypt from June 21 to 26 of the same month, at the end of the 2021/2022 squash season, in the presence of Dr. Assem Khalifa, the head of the Egyptian Squash Association.


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his pride in the qualifying of three Egyptians out of four players to the final rounds of the tournament, stressing that the Egypt maintains it's domination of world squash. 


Nour El-Sherbiny, ranked second in the world, claimed a remarkable sixth World Championship title after defeating her countrymate Nouran Gohar ,world No.1, 3-1 (7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-7).


on the other side, world’s No.4 & title-holder Mostafa Asal successfully defeated World No.2 Paul Coll with a 3-0 (13-11, 11-8, 11-7) victory.


The winners of the tournament will take home approximately $200,000 in prize money.


It is worth noting that Nouran Gohar was the holder of the title of the last edition in the women's competitions, while Mostafa Asal was the title holder in the men's competitions.
