El-Sisi meets with Prime Minister and Youth & Sports minister


President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt met with the Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly and Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, The Minister of Youth and Sports. 


Ambassador Bassam Radi, Official spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency , said that the meeting was to follow up with the latest preparations for the organization of the African cup of Nations Championship, which is scheduled to be hosted by Egypt in June.


The President directed to the continuity of coordination between the concerned parties in the country regarding the necessary arrangements before the championship, taking into consideration the importance of the event at the continental and international levels.


The President also directed to invest the preparation process of the championship to develop and modernize the sports infrastructure of football stadiums and facilities and raise their efficiency in the governorates hosting the championship, as well as the good managing of the economic aspects and the touristic and marketing returns of the championship, in addition to the commitment to the specific operational and time programs to complete all regulatory details according to the highest international standards.


The Spokesman explained that the Prime Minister reviewed various aspects of the ongoing preparations at the level of the supervising Supreme Committee on the organization of the African Cup of Nations, including the security preparations for audience reception, the provision of the necessary health services and the media coverage of the championship, with clarifying the functions and competencies of the ministries and government entities responsible in this regard.


Dr. Mustafa Madbouly also reviewed the arrangements at the level of the five governorates that will host the championship and they are: Cairo, Alexandria, Suez, Ismailia and Port Said, in addition to their sports, health, hotel besides the touristic facilities, main roads, public utilities, fire services, traffic and ambulance. 


Ambassador Bassam Radi added that the Minister of Youth and Sports also presented all the details of the Ministry's preparations for hosting the championship, including the proposed promotional activities in this regard, taking into account the championship's high following rate that reached around 2.1 billion viewers worldwide.
