President Sisi congratulates the handball team on winning the African Nations Cup for the eighth time

President Sisi said, "I would like to commend the heroic performance of the team throughout the tournament, as well as the distinguished leadership of the technical staff. The Egyptian handball team has scored many successive achievements for the Egyptian sport so the fans are pleased with its performance, determination, and victory in various competitions until it became one of the world's top teams."


The Egyptian handball team won the Handball African Cup of Nations for the eighth time by defeating Cape Verde with a score of 37/25 at the end of the 25th edition that was held on at Hassan Mostafa Hall on 6th of October city. It succeeded in qualifying for the final match after defeating Tunisia 29/27 in the semi-finals.


The Pharaohs team could make the fans happy after failing to win the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Algeria and was satisfied with winning the silver by losing to Spain in the final by a single goal difference of 28/27.
