Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, met, today, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the government district in the NAC, Dr. Magdy El-Qadi, the president of the universities of Canada in Egypt, and his accompanying delegation; to discuss ways of joint cooperation and benefit from common experiences.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Robert Ott, Assistant Professor at the College of Communication and Design at the prestigious Ryerson University, Dr. Adel Radwan, Head of the Sports Sector, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Kurdi, Head of the Central Department of Sports Performance.
The meeting discussed a number of areas of cooperation and joint action between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Canadian universities in Egypt, and making of a number of scholarships to sports champions available in various individual and team games in coordination with the Ministry, which is called the Sports Sponsorship Program.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, stressed the need to use the expertise of the Canadian University in Cairo in various fields of science and knowledge, to benefit from them during the coming period, pointing out that the university presents a unique model in the fields of scientific research.
The Minister of Youth and Sports added that the unprecedented support and care provided by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the sports system as a whole, especially to the sports champions who raise the flag of Egypt in various international forums, and put our heroes in those games in the position they deserve.
The Minister talked about adding the Canadian University to the sponsorship program for champion athletes and offering them scholarships, with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, as part of the incentives provided by the Ministry to abolish it and to overcome all academic obstacles and reach the highest desired results.
The Minister of Youth and Sports pointed out that the ministry is implementing the strategy of building a person, in accordance with the instructions of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and that the ministry is cooperating with the Ministry of Higher Education and Egyptian universities in the cultural and educational fields for university youth, in order to build educated and conscious youth who confront extremist ideas with enlightened and advanced thought.
For his part, Dr. Magdy El-Kady, Chairman of the Council of the Canadian Universities Foundation, mentioned the Egypt's keenness to combine all efforts to serve the country and benefit from international experiences in developing education under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, saying: “Sisi is the first supporter of the establishment of the foreign university complex in the new administrative capital. »
