Youth Minister discusses bilateral cooperation with the Ambassador of Portugal

On Tuesday 18 June, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, received "Manuela Franco" the Portuguese ambassador in the Ministry's office to discuss cooperation.


The meeting touched on the exchange of experiences in the sports field, and the opportunities for cooperation in football between Egypt and Portugal. This will contribute to the development of Egyptian football, especially since many Portuguese coaches have trained a group of Egyptian clubs in addition to the national team currently led by Roy Vitoria of Portugal. 


The importance of implementing a training program for a group of Egyptian coaches through a cohabitation course in Portugal was emphasized to get acquainted with the experiences of Portuguese coaches, and the latest training methods used in Portuguese clubs, within the framework of forming new generations of Egyptian coaches, in cooperation between the Egyptian Football Association and the ministry.


The meeting also discussed cooperation in the youth field between the two sides in terms of youth exchange programs to enhance communication between Egyptian youth and their Portuguese counterparts, participation in various youth forums and programs, and implementation of joint training courses. It was attended by Dr. Abdel Awal Mohamed, Assistant Minister, Reda Saleh Taha, Director General of Public and External Relations, Ghada Hussein, Director General of International Relations at the Ministry, and Dr. Nader Al Tatawi, Director General of the General Administration for the Development of Sports Cadres and Leaders.
