The Minister of Sports inspects Al Thumama Stadium in Doha the host of FIFA World Cup

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, inspected Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, which will host a set of matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.


The minister was briefed on the construction components of Al Thumama Stadium, which is a distinct Arab architectural icon, and its design expresses the civilizational depth and historical and cultural heritage of the Arab countries, and includes nine stands for 40,000 fans.


The Minister of Sports valued the construction boom at the level of sports stadiums that the State of Qatar built in preparation for hosting the World Cup, the largest football event in the world in football, wishing the organizers of the World Cup success at all levels and in the best way.


The Minister explained the construction development witnessed by Egyptian youth and sports facilities during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, including sports stadiums and indoor halls, which had a great impact on the success of the Egyptian state in hosting many Arab, continental, regional and international championships.
