Salma Ali, the Egyptian national Para Taekwondo team player, snatched the silver medal after reaching the second place in the African Para Taekwondo Open Championship held in Hurghada with the participation of 30 countries from all over the world.
Salma lost the final match against Turkey’s champion 20/9 after an exciting game.
She won the semi-final after beating Serbia's national team player 31/28.
She also won the matches against Amal Khalifa, the Egyptian national team player, 21/0, and America's player 6/4.
The African Championship is an important step in the players road of qualifying for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020 after the Para Taekwondo was first included into the Paralympic program.
Egypt participates with 14 player ( 11 male players and 3 female players ).
The national para taekwondo team has been formed for the first time several months ago.
