Sports Minister discusses preparations for Egypt's hosting of the Arab Volleyball Clubs Championship

Today, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, met with Captain Amr Makhlouf, treasurer of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation, to discuss a number of issues, and to review the federation's plans in terms of preparing the national teams for the upcoming championships.


The meeting discussed the preparations for Egypt's hosting of the Arab Men's Volleyball Championship, scheduled for February 2023, in the covered hall of the Club in the New Administrative Capital.


The federation has received confirmation of the participation of a group of Arab countries in the tournament competitions so far, including the countries of “Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Sudan, Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain, the Emirates. Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria,” in addition to the participation of Egypt, the host.


The Treasurer of the Volleyball Federation confirmed that preparations are in full swing from now to hold the tournament at the best organizational, technical and administrative level, thanking and appreciating the Minister of Youth and Sports for his constant keenness to follow up the federation's efforts and provide the necessary support to him.


For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy explained that the ministry supports all the various sports federations in cooperation and coordination with the Egyptian Olympic Committee, and follows up on its plans and programs to prepare national teams for the upcoming Arab, continental, regional and international competitions, and works to create an atmosphere around the players, male and female, to continue achieving accomplishments in those championships.


The Minister of Sports stressed the continuous follow-up with the organizing committee of the Arab Clubs Championship for men in volleyball, and the provision of all requirements to achieve success for it, similar to the various tournaments that are held on the land of Egypt.


A number of leaders of the Ministry of Youth and Sports attended the meeting.
