Egypt to host three international aquatic events

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed the details of the announcement that Egypt will host 3 international aquatic sports competitions that will be held in Somabay, Hurghada, from May 8th to May 15th, 2023.  


Sobhy, stressed that Egypt supports all sports federations, including the Swimming Federation, due to the importance of championships and competitions that are organized in terms of sports competition or entertainment for events and sports tourism.


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy praised the close relationship between the International Federation and its Egyptian counterpart and his keenness on continuous cooperation by assigning the organization of international and global championships to Egypt, pointing out that Egypt has a large infrastructure they built in accordance with international standers, in addition to organizational and administrative expertise. 


He pointed out that the goal of holding the tournament in Hurghada is considered as a great contribution to the tourism in Egypt.


Captain Pilot, Hussein Al-Musallam, President of the International Water Sports Federation, affirmed his confidence in the ability of the Egyptian Swimming Federation (ESF) to organize a tournament, adding that 


He added that the International Swimming Federation is witnessing good relations with its Egyptian counterpart headed by Eng. Yasser Idris, stressing that he is confident in the success of the championship due to Egypt's great efforts


In his speech, Eng. Yasser Idris, President of the Egyptian Swimming Federation and Vice-President of the Olympic Committee, stressed his happiness at the opportunity granted by Captain Pilot Hussein Al-Musallam, President of the International Water Sports Federation, to organize Egypt for three international aquatic competitions.


Idris continued saying that we are honored to be part of these prominent sporting events, adding that there are 32 countries that have announced their participation so far, which is a very large number, and I expect it to reach 40 countries at the end of April 12,to apply to participate in the tournament.


it is expected that Egypt will host three international aquatic events including: Water Ballet World Cup, World Beach Water polo qualification tournaments and Open Water Swimming Championship, with the participation of 600 competitors from all over the world.
