Ministers of Sports and Military Production inaugurated the artificial grass factory


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Mohamed Saeed El-Assar, minister of Military Production, inaugurated  on Monday 25th of February 2019, “Kaptex”,  the industrial grass production factory in Hickstep of Heliopolis Company for Chemical Industries, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Military Production, which was established by the Military Production Company for Engineering Projects,Consultance  and General Supplies according to the contract concluded in April 2016 between the Ministries of Youth and Sports, Military Production, Misr Clearing Company and Master Sport company in cooperation with the German company Bulitane to provide the Egyptian market  their needs of artificial grass locally and export the surplus production abroad.


During the opening ceremony, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Military Production, support has been confirmed for projects through the implementation of new constructions or the upgrading of existing facilities and increasing its efficiency, believing in its important role to take care of young people and encourage all sports activities. Achieves a significant advantage in rationalizing water consumption and reducing the cost of maintenance, which will help the sports facilities and achieve a great economic return to the state.


The factory is built on 22500 meters square with a production capacity of 2.7 million square meters of artificial grass. It’s planned to increase its production capacity to 5 million square, and it achieves an important advantage for the customer where the maintenance period is 5 years, making it the longest in the Middle East.


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, stressed that the ministry is seeking to increase the number of youth and sports facilities to ensure the execution of its strategies that aim to expand competition and sports practice bases, as well as providing a suitable sports environment for Egypt's champions in various sports.


Sobhy pointed out that the Ministry of Youth and Sports cooperates with most ministries, institutions and governmental and private organizations, and that there is continuous and constant cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production.


This cooperation has a great impact on developing the infrastructure of youth and sports facilities. 


The minister pointed to his keenness towards updating Youth centers and raise their efficiency, including the processing of preparing sports stadiums with artificial grass, noting that the production of the factory, which is opened today, will contribute significantly to the processing and development of all stadiums.


Ashraf Sobhy ended up by stressing the importance of the artificial grass factory in terms of covering the local demands of the artificial grass and exporting the surplus in the future as the production complies with the international standards According to the highest quality standards.
