African initiators visit the Religions Complex in Cairo


The Ministry of Youth and Sports, headed by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, organized a visit to the Religions Complex in Cairo for the African Delegations participating in the African Forum for Youth Initiatives under the slogan "the Initiators".


The African delegations learned about the history of the Religions Complex and visited the ancient and different Egyptian houses of worship , also the visit included a tour to the Archaeological Monastery of Mary Girgis of the Greek Orthodox to know more about the history of the archaeological place and its most important features.


Also they headed to the Coptic Orthodox School, then Church of the Holy Virgin, known as The Hanging Church and they got to know its history, the most important events that happened in it, the number of visits of Pope Cyril VI , as well as the history of its construction, especially since it was built in the form of Noah's Ark.


Number of them went to pray el Gomaa in Amr Ibn Al-Aas mosque and the tour ended with visiting the Jewish temple.


The African Forum is the first of “ Aswan the capital of the African youth” activities, which is prepared by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, witnesses many events, including seminars, workshops about youth initiatives and  reviewing the initiatives of the African participating countries , as well as touristic and historical tours in Aswan from 1st to 7th of March in Aswan.
