The arbitration committee of the African forum for youth initiatives
discussed 31 African initiatives during the events of the forum, which is
organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the slogan "the
Initiators", from 1st to 7th of March in Aswan, in the context of the
declaration of president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, that Aswan is the 2019 African
youth Capital.
The arbitration committee
includes Dr. Karima Ghanem, President of the International Center for Diplomacy
in Morocco, Fadimatou Iyawa, President of the National Youth Council in
Cameroon and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Dayem, Lecturer of Cultural Development at Cairo
University.
The initiatives presented by the participating countries included topics
related to astronomy, community building, educational methods, protection of
the seas and oceans against pollution, environmental protection, raising the
awareness of the dangers of climate change, encouraging tree planting,
desertification and environmental degradation, as well as reinforcing the
values of responsibility, solidarity and respect for dignity and human rights,
gender equality and enhancing women's awareness.
The initiatives discussed ways of supporting young people, spreading the
culture of self-employment and reinforcing the volunteerism culture among
African youth also using technology to achieve sustainable development of the
continent, as well as the problems of youth and ways to create job
opportunities for them, encouraging education and ways to provide housing and
money for future students and entrepreneurship for young people.
The Forum was participated by
youth from several countries such as: Sierra Leone, Burundi, Central African
Republic, Chad, Liberia, Djibouti, Malawi, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Morocco,
Guinea Conakry, Ghana, Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Cameroon, Namibia, Somalia,
Sudan, Nigeria and Egypt.
