Youth & Sports Minister discusses the latest preparations for the African Cup of Nations

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Youth and Sports Minister, discussed the latest updates and preparations for the 32nd African Cup of Nations with coach Mohamed Fadl, the championship’s director.


The meeting was about many important points including the final position of what has been done in developing the stadiums hosting the events of the championship, the electronic tickets system as well as the work of the various committees and their role before, during and after the championship.


Ashraf Sobhy also discussed during his meeting with Morocco Idriss Akki, head of Lagardère company the sponsor for the African Football Confederation, ways of developing the cooperation to attract the largest number of sponsors and to support the championship in a manner that suits the name and reputation of Egypt in the world. 


Sobhy assured that the organization for this championship will be different and will suit the name of Egypt in the world, stressing that they are working very hard to finish all the stadiums before the deadlines set by the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.


Egypt will host the 32nd African Cup of Nations in June with the participation of 24 African teams representing 6 groups, to be hosted by the cities of Cairo, Alexandria, Suez and Ismailia.
