Ministry of Youth and Sports received a delegation of youth
leaders from Uzbekistan headed by Mr. Momani Janov Sharif, Deputy Minister of
Youth and Sports of Uzbekistan with the aim of exchanging experiences and
seeking ways of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of youth
and sports.
The meeting discussed the experiences in the sports and youth
fields in order to exchange experiences between the two countries. The delegation
is scheduled to visit some of the Egyptian youth and sports facilities during
their visit to Egypt.
Mr. Janov added that the World Assembly of Youth (WAY), a new
association established two years ago in Uzbekistan, has now 9 million members
out of 33 million peoples in Uzbekistan where the youth, between the ages of
14-25 years, represents 65% of the population.
The Deputy Minister of
Youth and Sports of Uzbekistan explained that the programs of improving human
health are a common interest between the two countries, and praised the
ministry's keenness to implement various sports, cultural, social and political
activities for young people in youth centers and clubs, and that Uzbekistan is
taking the same course to attract youth attention to sports at all education
stages.
He also stressed that
there is a special project for youth employment entitled "Youth Our
Future", which includes training the youth for productive projects, as
well as implementing joint projects between the private sector and the country
to fund youth projects, in addition to international forums that working on
training future youth leaders in universities and Educational institutes, and
implementing youth exchanging programs to benefit from international
experiences in this field.
Murad Allah, chairman
of world Assembly of youth of Uzbekistan, said that his country has won many
gold medals in recent tournaments and that reflects Uzbekistan's interest in
sports talented youth and support them from an early age.
There is also a research institute organizing youth courses
for 4 months with the aim of escalating a representative of the Youth Union in
each governmental institution, adding that the state has two newspapers, two
magazines and two television channels specialized for young people in
Uzbekistan.
