Youth Ministry and UNFPA discuss implementing awareness programs on population issues in youth centers


Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy met with Dr. Alexander Bordiroza Sasha, representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to discuss cooperation between the two sides in the framework of the Ministry of Youth and Sports plan which aims to open cooperation and investment prospects with international institutions and organizations.


The meeting dealt with activating the partnership with UNFPA through the implementation of programs to raise the awareness of population issues in youth centers, and expand the joint programs between the two sides in youth and sports programs and projects.


The meeting also discussed the participation in awareness campaigns about the importance of family planning, facing the increase in population as well as the expansion of sports marathons in all governorates and the use of sport for development to raise awareness of population issues.


Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announced that Dr. Ashraf Sobhy will participate in the 8th  forum of the economic and social council which will take place next April in the HQ in New York, and his speech will be about the achievements of the ministry in the youth and sports programs which is presented for the Egyptian youth.


Minister of Youth and Sports praised the fruitful cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), inviting the Fund's representative to attend the opening of the Camel Race track in Sharm El Sheikh and attend the first Arab Women's Sports Conference next April.
