Dr. Ashraf Sobhy witnesses the closing of the first conference of Arab Women Sports


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed the closing session of the Arab Women Sports Conference, held in Cairo from 28th to 29th of March under the auspices of H.E President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.


"Arab and World Experiences in Women Sports field" ,The final session of the conference, was attended by Nada Askar, General Director of Sharjah Association for Women Leadership, Marijka Fleuren, President of the European Hockey Federation, in addition to Dr. Nihad Al-Batikhi, President of the women sports club in Jordan, Ahmad Al-Sherif, Deputy of the Legislative and Constitutional Committee in the Parliament, and Dr. Jihad Amir, Chairperson of the Youth Committee in the Supreme Council of Culture.


The Symposium focused on presenting the successful experiences of a number of women leaders in the development of women sports in the Arab world and empowering them in various fields. Where the experience of the Sharjah Association of Women Leadership was presented in addition to the contributions of the Women Sports Club in Jordan and the initiatives adopted by the Arab countries to spread the culture of practicing sports by women in the community and the achievements of the future leaders in sports field.


Dr. Sobhy praised the diversity of the conference sessions and the distinct of women leaders who played a significant role in women sports in the Arab countries. Pointing out to the Ministry's keenness on encouraging the culture of women sports in the society.


Also he stressed the keenness of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers to set a group of programs and sports events annually that aim to encourage women to practice sports inside our Arab countries, referring to the achievements done by the Arab women including the Egyptian female players who achieve first places in different championships they participate in.
