Sports Minister meets with the Presidents of the International and Arab Cycling Federation


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, met with David Lappartient, President of the International Cycling Federation, and H.H Sheikh Faisal bin Humaid Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation. 

 

“The country works on spreading the culture of cycling as it’s important for the public health and making it a lifestyle,” Sobhy said. “The Ministry will sign a memorandum of understanding with the International Cycling Federation to work on spreading the sport under the slogan ( Cycling for All ), and using the youth centers in Sharm El-Sheikh and Saint Catherine governorates to be an international gathering center for cycling sport.”

 

Lappartient praised the Ministry’s development in the cycling track of Cairo International Stadium and making it an international track ready to host the international events.

 

The meeting was attended by Dr. Wagih Azzam, President of the Egyptian Cycling Federation and the African Cycling Confederation also Vice President of the International and Arab Federation in addition to Ali Baraka, Writer, Journalist and Member of the board of directors.
