Ministry of Youth and Sports: Special interest is given to the "Nasser Fellowship for Transformational Leadership" by the State and the State Information Service has set up an electronic window for the Fellowship in 7 foreign languages

 

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashraf Sobhy,  highlighted the attention and support given by the State to the African dossier, in implementation of what was endorsed by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at the World Youth Forum, which witnessed an honorable representation of the youth of African countries, noting that the Fellowship organized by (the Central Administration of the Parliament and Civic Education – African Youth Bureau) from 8 to 22 June, to reflect the special attention given by the State to the Fellowship, convinced of the role of African youth and the importance of providing them with all forms of support, rehabilitation and training, as well as empowering them in leadership positions and benefiting from their abilities and ideas. 

In this regard, the State Information Service has set up an electronic portal, on the occasion of the assumption by Egypt of the presidency of the African Union, in 7 foreign languages, namely: Arabic,  English, French, Swahili, Hausa, Amharic and Portuguese http://africa.sis.gov.eg . The "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership", launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, is implemented within the framework of the "1 million by 2021" initiative aimed at training one million young Africans by 2021, recently launched in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, by the Commission on Science, Technology and Human Resources.

The State Information Service has also published informations about the Fellowship on its official website http://www.sis.gov.eg  in Arabic, English and French, through an electronic window set up for the Scholarship, including admission requirements and registration form.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced that the Fellowship targeted around 100 young leaders from the African Union member States, as Decision-makers in the Governmental Sector, Executive Leaders in the Private Sector -Youth in Civil Society - Heads of National Councils for Youth - Faculty members at Universities - Researchers in Strategic Research Centers - Members of Trade Unions - Journalists and Media Professionals.

The aim of the Fellowship is to transfer the long-established Egyptian experience in national institution-building and to create a new generation of young African transformational leadership whose vision is in line with the orientations of Egypt as president of the African Union, and which is committed to serving the objectives of African unity through integration,

training, capacity building, developing strategic visions, as well as organizing meetings for Africa's most influential leaders, continent-wide.

The Nasser Fellowship is the first (African-African) fellowship to target young African executive leaders in various fields of specialization within their communities, as well as one of the critical mechanisms of empowerment of the African transformational leadership endorsed by the African Union’s Agenda 2063 (in text).
