Ashraf Sobhy and Hisham Hatab meets with Judo team before traveling to participate in the Grand Prix Championship in China



Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Mr. Hisham Hatab, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, met with Motea Fakhr Elden, president of the Egyptian Federation for Judo, and number of the board members and the players of the Egyptian team before traveling to participate in the Grand Prix Championship in China, held from 24th to 27th of May 2019.


Sobhy expressed wished success for all the players of the Egyptian team, stressing that the Ministry of Youth and Sports support all the players and champions who raise the name of Egypt high in the international championships, and asked them to exert great effort to achieve the best results in the championship as the competitions will be strong, bur he stressed that he trusts them and that they can achieve honorable results especially after the Egyptian team managed to win the first place in the African Championship held in South Africa and won 9 different medals.


The Minister assured that such championships are good for the players in order to reach and compete in Tokyo 2020, adding that the Ministry of Sports is interested in judo sport as it is among the games participating in the national project for talented. 


Mr. Motea Fakhr Elden thanked the Minister for supporting the Judo Federation and the players, in addition to providing camps that help raising the level of the players to compete in different championships, adding that there is a preparing program for the players agreed in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to prepare them for the qualification for Tokyo 2020.


The meeting was attended by a group of the players including Ramadan Darwish, Ahmed Ali, Mohamed Ali, Mohamed Mohy, Abdel Rahman Mohamed Ali, Hatem Abdel Akher, Ahmed Waheed, Careman Kamel and Lamiaa Mohamed.
