As part of the activities of the 11th day: The Supreme Council of Culture receives the sons of the "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership" in the presence of the African Program Director at the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies



The Supreme Council of Culture received the young Africans participating in the "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership", as part of the activities of the Fellowship, launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (African Youth Bureau and Central Administration of the Parliament and Civic Education), under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, President of the Cabinet of Ministers, during the period from 8 to 22 June 2019, in cooperation with the Pan-African Youth Union.


The young Africans met with Dr. Hesham Azmi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture and Dr. Amani El Taweel, Director of the African Program at the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, as part of the activities of the 10th day of the "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership". 

Dr. Amani Al-Taweel praised the role of the African Youth Bureau in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, as well as his efforts to strengthen intercultural communication among African youth to exchange their knowledge and visions on issues and topics related to their African countries, stressing that the African continent represented a single indivisible entity, especially since its people fought hard to create a single African entity.


She explained the concept of African ideas fighting against colonialism and slavery of Africa by the West, indicating that these ideas had been developed in five conferences held between London and Paris organized by Africans abroad;  which emphasized the need to strengthen communication between Africans, noting that these conferences were the platform on which the leaders of Africa's liberation movements relied.


Al-Taweel said that the national independence of African countries faced the same challenges of Africa, through the ages, also highlighting the low economic level of African countries despite the wealth of resources and abundant workforce.


Al-Taweel highlighted the importance of considering the interest of African youth to build the continent's future and achieving Africa's renaissance and prosperity among nations, stressing the need for inter-african cooperation in all fields. She also mentioned the Egyptian policy towards the African continent, noting that the Egyptian political leadership was striving to unify the peoples of the African continent, in recognition of the role of African youth in shaping the future of Africa and resolving the challenges facing the continent.


For his part, Dr. Hesham Azmi, discussed the role of the Supreme Council of Culture in strengthening intercultural communication with Africa and promoting relations between Egypt and all African countries, highlighting the identity of African Egypt.

Mr. Azmi explained the role of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser in the liberation of the African continent and the non-aligned movement of Africa, underlining that Egypt's policy was reflected in unfailing support for the liberation movements in Africa, noting also Egypt's efforts in this area, as well as the Egyptian regional role under the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser, which has strengthened the Egyptian cultural dimension in Africa.


Azmi said that the African continent was waiting with real hope and optimism for the vision developed by President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi to achieve the renaissance, development, and prosperity of Africa, in line with Egypt’s presidency of the African Union.

Mr. Azmi also explained to the participants in the Nasser Fellowship the role of the Supreme Council of Culture and the most important cultural activities organized for the African side, highlighting the Council's efforts to support African interculturalism, as well as the most important events organized by the Council during the coming period concerning the African continent.
