Egypt comes in the first place of the African Karate Championship


The national karate team won the first place in the UFAK African Junior & Senior Karate Championship, Which takes place from 9th to 17th July 2019 in Gaborone, Botswana. 


Egypt won the first place with 23 different medals ( 11 golds, 6 silvers and 6 bronze medals ). Ahead of Algeria which came in the second place with 15 medals ( 11 golds and 4 bronzes ). While Senegal won the third place with 8 medals ( 2 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes ).


The gold medals were snatched by: Yasmin Nasr El Gewily at -48 Junior Kumite Female, Noursin Ali at -59 Junior Kumite Female, karim Waleed at Junior Kata Male and shrouk El Hnawy at Junior Kata Female, Ali El Sawy at -67 kg Male Kumite in addition to Taha Tarek at +84 kg male kumite, Giana Farouk at -61 kg female kumite, Nour Akram Soliman at +59 kg Junior kumite female,  Mahmoud Gaber Mansour at -76 kg Junior kumite male, Hazem Ahmed Mohamed at +76 kg Junior kumite male and one gold medal by the male kumite team.


While the silver medals snatched by: Abdullah Mamduh Abdel Aziz at -75 kg male Kumite, Radwa Said at -50 kg female kumite, Malek Gomaa at -60 kg male kumite in addition to Ahmed Ashraf at Male Kata contests, Sara Asim at Female Kata contests and one silver medal for the male Kata team.


In addition to 6 bronze medals snatched by Feryal Ashraf at -68 kg female kumite, Menna Shaaban at +68 kg female kumite, Yassmin Hamdi at -55 kg female kumite in addition to one bronze by the Kata female team, Mohamed Adel at -61 Junior Kumite Male contests and Ahmed Ayman At -68 Junior Kumite Male.


The team is technically led by Major General Ahmed Abdullah, the technical director of the kumite team, Sayed Shams Coach of the kumite team, Dr. Mohamed Abdul Rahman, the male team Coach, Hani Qeshtah, Coach of the female team, Saif Nasr, the kata Coach, Dr. Ahmed Omar El Farouk, the Physical Coach, Ahmed El Sawy, the specialized Doctor of the team, the administrative matters supervised by Captain Ashraf Al-Jazzar, Supervising the administrative matters, the delegation is headed by Dr. Saleh Atris and accompanied by Mr. Mohamed El Dahrawy, President of the Egyptian Karate Team.
