Sports Ministry organizes a touristic tour to FIFA President in the Egyptian Museum

Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with Ministry of Antiquities organized a touristic tour to FIFA President Gianni Infantino in the Egyptian Museum on the sidelines of his presence in Egypt to attend the final of AFCON next Friday.

He took a tour inside the exhibition halls of the museum and began with a visit of the temporary exhibition “Sport through the ages,” which was inaugurated by Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani last June, on the occasion of hosting Egypt for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Where the exhibition includes 96 pieces of antiques that reflect the interest of ancient Egyptians to sustain physical fitness, training youth to practice sports from a young age.

The FIFA President also visited the royal mummies, the displays of Yuya and Thuya Collection, the Tanis and King Tutankhamun Halls.

He expressed his great admiration for the museum and its unique and ancient relics, especially the golden mask of King Tutankhamun, the statue of Sheikh El Balad, the statues of King Amenhotep III and his Great Royal wife Queen Tiye and the statue of King Khafre.

The President of FIFA was impressed with the special needs section for the blind and how they were acquainted with the archaeological pieces through the Braille system. The section was inaugurated by Al-Anani last June in cooperation with the Italian side.

Infantino wrote down a word in the museum's book of visits, describing his visit to the museum's halls as magnificent and dazzling, and that the museum exhibit relics that reflect the history, culture and civilization of humanity.

“An amazing history and a great future for Egypt,” he said during a speech at the end of the tour.
