The Egyptian National Handball Team U21 snatched the bronze medal of the men’s Handball World Championship in its 22nd edition hosted by Spain from July 16 to 28.
Egypt won the third place and snatched the bronze medal after they won over Portugal 37-27. They ended the first half ahead of Portugal 17-15 before widening the gap during the second half.
Egypt’s team lost their game against France 37-35, while Portugal lost against Croatia 31-28, in the Championship Semi Finals.
Our national team qualified for the Semi Finals after beating Norway 29-27 in the Quarter Finals.
The team includes: Abdul Rahman Taha, Abdul Rahman Hameed, Galal Khorshid, Abdul Aziz Ehab, Shehab Abdullah, Hassan Waleed, Saif Al-Dera, Ahmed Hisham, Ahmed Radi, Hazem Mamdouh, Mohsen Ramadan, Mohamed Al Azhari, Omar Khaled, Omar Sami, Khaled Waleed and Yasser Mohammed.
The team had won the first round matches against Australia, Nigeria, Sweden, Korea and France, and qualified for the round of 16 ahead of the Group B, to beat Serbia and then beat Norway in the quarterfinals.
