Egypt’s handball team qualifies for the World Championship semi-final


The Egyptian national handball team U19 won over Iceland 35-31 and qualified for the semi-final of the 2019 IHF Men’s Youth (U19) World Championship held in Macedonia from 6th to 18th of August 2019.


The first half ended with the Egyptian team leading the game 21-14, before Iceland reduced the gap in the second half.


Egypt’s team qualified for the quarter-final after beating Slovenia 30-23. While Iceland won over Japan 39-34 in the round of 16.


Egypt’s Champions came in the first place of their Group B with 8 points as they won 4 matches over Sweden, Chinese Taipei, Canada and Hungary while they lost one game against France, before they won the game over Slovenia 30-23 at the round of 16.


Our national team started their matches in the championship by defeating their Swedish rival 32-29. Before losing to France 28-32. Then won over Chinese Taipei 36-25 and over Canada 47-20. In addition to their victory over Hungary 31-24.
