Ashraf Sobhy Witnesses Launching of Counter-Terrorism Initiative Conference

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed the Youth Initiative on using information technology to combat terrorism, under the auspices of the Arab League. The initiative is to be held from the 4th till the 6th of January and will be attended by several important officials and political analysts.


Dr. Sobhy started his speech by conveying the greetings of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to all the participants, indicating that the conference confirms the ministry’s keenness to upgrade youth contributions in various fields of construction and development, including the issue of countering terrorism and extremism in the conference held under the slogan “Youth Initiative to Counter-Terrorism”.


He pointed out that the strategy adopted by the Egyptian political leadership in this regard, which was mainly based on analyzing policies, developing legislation, and adapting many mechanisms related to countering terrorism and extremism, had the support of the international community; this eventually realized the necessity of concerting all efforts and cooperation of all countries, organizations, institutions and individuals to eliminate this occurrence.


He continued by saying that in the light of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt … “We have come to realize with certainty that maximizing the role of youth and activating their contributions in various fields is an imperative and indispensable in all aspects of construction and development, especially those related to confronting the scourge of extremism and terrorism.
