Egypt hosts UIPM 2020 Pentathlon World Cup in February

Modern pentathlon federation, under the leadership of Eng. Sherif El-Erian, announced hosting the UIPM Pentathlon World Cup by Egypt, which will take place from 26 February to 1 March at Platinum Club in Fifth settlement, New Cairo.


It is expected that about 500 male and female players, coaches and administrators from 40 countries will participate in the championship, as 30 countries have so far confirmed their participation through registering at the official website of the game's international federation, and they are Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Egypt.


Sherif El-Erian assured that the federation held several coordination meetings with the organizing committee, Mr. Hashem Yassin, the executive director of the federation and the general coordinator of the championship, and Captain Ali Asim, the manager of the championship, to reach the latest updates to equip the championship stadiums in the Platinum Club in fifth settlement and overcome all obstacles and take all security measures and approvals to secure the participating countries, as well as the preparations of the Egyptian team, which participates with 12 players.


El-Erian added that Egypt will host a series of modern pentathlon tournaments, as it will organize the World championship U17 and U19 in Hurghada next October. Pointing out that these tournaments support Egypt's sports tourism and emphasize Egypt’s organizational abilities to host the huge events.
