Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy inaugurated the 15th Arab Shooting Championship and the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s International Shooting Championship which is taking place in Egypt from February 17 till February 26.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chairman of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Vladimir Lisin, President of Arab Shooting Federation Duaij Khalaf Al Otaibi and Head of Egyptian Shooting Federation Hazem Hosney.
“We welcome everybody in their second country Egypt. Egypt’s hosting of this event affirms its interest in embracing Arab brothers as you promised them.” Sobhy said.
On his part, the chairman of the Arab Shooting Federation thanked Egypt for the fabulous organization of the tournament, pointing out the recent outstanding achievements of Arab shooters in international tournaments.
Around 15 countries are taking part in the championship: Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, Yemen, Kuwait, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, USA, Ghana, Egypt.
