The opening of the 15th African Championships for Rhythmic and Aerobic Gymnastics

Dr. Ehab Amin, president of the Egyptian Gymnastics federation and vice-president of the Africa federation, announced the opening the 15th African Championships for Rhythmic and Aerobic Gymnastics, which is hosted by Egypt till March 17, at the Sports Development Center in Sharm El Sheikh. With the participation of 11 countries: Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, Cape Verde, Senegal, Congo, Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Benin.


The opening was attended by Ali Zaatar President of the African Gymnastics Federation, Naomi Valenzo and Youssef Al Tabaa members of the FIG Executive Committee, Noha Abdel Wahab Vice President of the FIG Technical Committee, Ahmed Talaat Vice President of the Egyptian Gymnastics Federation and Dr. Nehad Zayed the Executive Director of the Egyptian Gymnastics Federation.


The championship will be held in two stages. The first is the competitions of Rhythmic Gymnastics from march 10 to 14, that will also serve as qualification event for 2020 Tokyo Olympic games for Rhythmic Gymnastics. The Egyptian national women’s team, headed by the Russian International expert Natalia Dimitrova, seeks to book the qualifying ticket.


The second stage is the competitions of Aerobics Gymnastics from March 13 to 17.


President of Egypt Gymnastics federation, Dr. Ehab Amin stressed that the tournament is the most widely attended by players and countries at the level of the African championships.
