The International Karate Federation (IKF) announced the players’ names who have qualified officially for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
2016 World Champion Giana Farouk is the only Arabic and African karateka who qualified. Gianna qualified directly for the women's kumite 61-kg category by finishing among the top four karateka at the end of the combined WKF Olympic Rankings.
IKF decided to postpone the world qualifiers to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics from 26 to 28 June in Paris.
