The Minister of Youth and Sports launches the activities of the International Youth Day via video conference

The Corona crisis revealed the creative innovations of youth in dealing with the situation and many programs and projects implemented by the ministry during the crisis via video conference.
We are keen to cooperate with various agencies to invest in youth and create a supportive environment for them.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, launches Wednesday morning, the activities of the International Youth Day 2020 which is held in cooperation with a number of agencies and United Nations organizations in Egypt from 12-13 August via video conference.
This event was attended by Christina Albertin, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt, German Haddad, Assistant Representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Egypt and a group of youth from different countries.
In his speech, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy explained the interest of the Egyptian government and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in youth all over the Republic, and providing support and care to them in light of the directives of the political leadership led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, referring to forums and dialogue meetings with the youth that was held under the patronage and presence of the President at the local and international level to get acquainted with the opinions and points of view of youth, and give them confidence in themselves to participate in the community with the capabilities and empowerment they have.
The Minister of Youth added that Egypt, like all countries of the world, has faced exceptional circumstances as a result of corona virus pandemic, and that Egyptian youth have proven their ability to deal with reality and face challenges as we found creative innovations from the youth and positive initiatives and repercussions of the Corona virus on the health, social and economic levels.
In this context, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy pointed out that the Ministry of Youth and Sports, during the Corona crisis, implemented many programs and various projects via video conference, according to the data, results and changes resulting from that crisis, and in light of the digital transformation of the activities and programs of the ministry.
The Minister of Youth stated that, in line with the vision and approach of the political leadership, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has set strategic axes for working with youth, which are "to draw up policies and implementation plans that ensure the integration of youth and activate their participation in political, social and cultural life, prepare programs to motivate and empower youth and invest their energies, take care of youth, rehabilitate and develop their skills and capabilities, develop channels of communication with youth and organize initiatives to work with youth entities and organization.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy revealed the National Youth Matrix program that brings all governmental activities related to youth together within the framework of developing an integrated map for youth work through integrated government coordination, indicating that soon all the details of the matrix will be completed and announced.
The Minister of Youth and Sports affirmed that the Ministry extends a helping hand, contribution and cooperation with all United Nations councils and organizations, participating in the activities of the International Youth Day to work together to invest in youth and create a supportive environment extending thanks and appreciation to all international councils and organizations participating in the celebration.
The International Youth Day is organized by the United Nations Population Fund, UNICEF, the United Nations Development Program, the International Labor Organization, the World Health Organization, and the International Organization for Migration, UNESCO, and the High Commissioner, and the activities include a variety of dialogue sessions on the current challenges, And family planning mechanisms, and youth initiatives in light of the repercussions of the Coronavirus, cybercrime, and other axes.
