Youth Minister discusses bilateral cooperation with officials of Workforce Improvement and Skill Enhancement project (WISE)

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, the Minister of Youth and Sports, met today in his office, with a delegation of Workforce Improvement and Skill Enhancement project (WISE) funded by U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to discuss bilateral cooperation to discuss the bilateral cooperation during the upcoming period at joint development programs and projects levels.
The meeting started with general axes presentation of the strategy of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which includes training and developing youth skills and preparing them for the requirements of the labor market through a package of various programs through a package of various programs implemented by the various central departments in the ministry.
During the meeting, the delegation of Workforce Improvement and Skill Enhancement project (WISE) reviewed the general idea of the proposed program to be implemented under the title “Start Your Journey for Training and Employment” in cooperation with the Ministry in order to qualify the youth who are looking for work and join the labor market in 15 governorates in its first stage, in addition to presenting the proposed program to link youth centers with schools and implementing a range of sports and artistic activities for students.
The Minister of Youth and Sports welcomed the cooperation with the delegation of Workforce Improvement and Skill Enhancement project (WISE) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in support of bilateral relations, studying all the proposals submitted and working to connect the various programs and projects of the Ministry in order to achieve the Ministry's vision and strategy, as well as expanding the implementation of programs for preparing active cadres in the field of entrepreneurship.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy emphasized the importance of technical education within the society and work on establishing specialized training programs to develop technical skills for the youth within youth centers in various governorates with a study of establishing permanent centers for employment, and entrepreneurship in youth centers and providing career guidance and training on employment skills, pointing out that the terms of cooperation between the two parties were put into a general agreement after completing their full study in preparation for their implementation during the upcoming period.
The meeting was attended by Joseph Ghanem, Project Manager, Muhammed Fawzi, Deputy Project Manager and Technical Education Director, Dr. Amr Soliman, Senior Project Consultant for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Walid Quraish, Project Private Sector Program Manager and a number of Ministry of Youth and Sports leaders.
