Minister of Sports inspects the construction development work in Cairo Stadium indoor hall

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, inspected the construction and development works of the grand covered hall at Cairo Stadium, accompanied by Dr. Hassan Mustafa, President of the International Handball Federation, Major General Staff Ihab El-Far, Chairman of the Engineering Authority, and Major General Ali Darwish, Chairman of the Cairo Stadium Authority.

The main indoor hall in Cairo Stadium, which can accommodate 22,000 fans, will host Group G matches ( Egypt, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and the South American representatives), and Group D matches, which include Denmark, Argentina, Bahrain, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

During the tour, the Minister of Sports conveyed the President's praise of the draw ceremony and the ability of the Egyptian state to organize major events. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy reassured the President of the International Handball Federation about the tournament itself in terms of organizational and financial matters, overcoming all obstacles, and laying down all the tournament capabilities.

The Minister of Sports reviewed with the President of the International Handball Federation the ongoing preparations to receive Egypt's guests, including players, coaches, administrators, and fans. He emphasized the need to maximize the transmitted image and the role of volunteers, the opening and closing ceremony and tournament matches.  

Sobhy expressed his happiness with the achievement that has been achieved at present, which has exceeded 90%. He also indicated that the ongoing work in the covered hall of Cairo Stadium will be completed during October. 

The Chairman of the Engineering Authority, Major General Ihab Al-Far, presented the project summary of developing and raising the efficiency of the covered hall complex in Cairo Stadium, which included raising the efficiency and development of the journalists and media professionals’ entrance, the main hall, the conference hall, the main loge, lighting the general site, the building of the halls and presidential salons, public entrances, main entrances and toilets.

Dr. Hassan Mustafa, President of the International Handball Federation, praised the construction and ongoing work in the Cairo stadium indoor hall and the halls hosting the tournament. He appreciated the Egyptian state efforts, starting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, for the momentary follow-up to take out the tournament in a manner befitting a civilization And the history of Egypt.
