Youth Minister honors members of " Have a Dream" initiative

Within the framework of the continues support which he provides to the distinguished Egyptian youth and to the purposeful community initiatives, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, honored a group of Youth, members of " Have a Dream" initiative, who were keen on providing humanitarian aid and relief to the affected by Beirut explosion.


The idea of the initiative came through youth coordinating with each other through social media and agreeing to travel to Lebanon and provide aid in a voluntarily basis.


Mahmoud Abdel Majid, one of the founders of the initiative, said, " I decided to travel to Lebanon after the explosion to help Lebanese people, and I announced the initiative through social media. The initiative has met with a very good response by the Egyptian youth, so about 80 young men and women from university students and graduates participated in it. The youth travel at their own expense in successive groups of about 10 people." He noted that youth help people of Beirut in the required cleanness, providing psychological support for them, protecting their supplies, and assessing damages in coordination with one of the Lebanese non-governmental organizations.


From his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy praised the efforts of the youth participating in the initiative, and their enthusiasm in providing assistance and support to the Lebanese people, pointing to the importance of youth role in society in serving the people in various situations in a way that reflects the positive role of youth in the reconstruction and development process.


The Minister of Youth and Sports affirmed the Ministry's support for the inspiring models within the community, and that the Ministry will engage them in the projects and programs implemented by it in all governrates of the Republic.
