Ministry of Youth and Sports: Supreme Commission for Elections announces final results of Egypt Youth Parliament

On Thursday, the Supreme Commission for Elections for Egypt Youth Parliament affiliated to Ministry of Youth and Sports announced that Fatima Hussein El-Shafy was elected president of Egypt Youth Parliament after winning 104 votes out of 230 votes, defeating her closest competition, Abdel Fattah Hadiya who got 95 votes.


The commission also announced that the candidate Ali Saad Attia was elected Deputy of Egypt Youth Parliament, after winning 97 votes, defeating his nearest competitor, Mostafa Saad Zaki, who got 95 votes, while the candidate Rawan Al-Sayed was elected Deputy of Egypt Youth Parliament by electronic recommendation after getting the same number of votes as the candidate Salma Ahmed Abdel Aziz, her closest competitor, getting 94 votes each.


In the same context, the Commission appointed Mustafa Ali Taher, one of Halaib City youth, as Rapporteur-General of Egypt Youth Parliament. The Commission also announced the results of the candidates who won the seats of the Substantive Committees after the run-off over 16 seats and they are 25 committees as follows: Ali Mohamed Ali Gaber was elected Chairman of Education and scientific Research Committee, Ahmed Farouq El-Sebaei was elected Chairman of Health Committee, Abdel Rahman Mohamed Mandour was elected Chairman of Defense and National Security Committee, Mohamed Mahmoud Hamdan was elected Chairman of Economic Affairs Committee, Walaa Badawy Ali was elected Chairman of Culture, Media, and Antiquities Committee, Zeinab Mahmoud Afifi was elected Chairman of Local Administration Committee, Rahma Sherif Mosaad was elected Chairman of Youth and Sports Committee, Farida Ahmed Negm was elected Chairman of Proposals and Complaints Committee, Ahmed Allah Mohamed Nasr was elected Chairman of Constitution and Legislation Affairs Committee, Ahmed Adel Abass was elected Chairman of Plan and Budget Committee, Mohamed Mustafa Kamel was elected Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee, Salma Ahmed Abdel Gapar was elected Chairman of Human Rights Committee, and Salma Hassan Salah was elected Chairman of Housing and Public Utilities and Reconstruction Committee.


In addition to Mohamed Attia Al-Baqari who was elected Chairman of Communications and Information Technology Committee, Omar Essam Taha was elected Chairman of Transport and Communication Committee, Haneen Arafa Ahmed was elected Chairman of Tourism and Civil Aviation Committee, Kholud Shazly Hamed was elected Chairman of Social Solidarity and Family Committee, Mohamed Al-Husainy Ibrahim was elected Chairman of Religious Affairs and Endowments Committee, Rahma khattab Nagd was elected Chairman of Power and Environment Committee, Mohamed Abdullah khalil was elected Chairman of Industry Committee, Zeinab Muharram Shahat was elected Chairman of Manpower Committee, Aya Gamal Hussain was elected Chairman of African Affairs Committee, and Mahmoud Rashad Salem was elected Chairman of Arab Affairs Committee.


This came after the end of the electoral process to elect the Bureau and the Substantive Committees if Egypt Youth Parliament electronically, which was organized by by the Central Administration of Parliament and Civil Education affiliated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, during the period from 14 to 19 September, at Youth City Theater in Abu Qir, Alexandria, with 351 male and female participants, representatives of the elected bodies and the Substantive Committees, who are members of the second model of the Egyptian State and the Executive Authority, Prime Ministry. This came amid the implementation of the precautionary measures and the general controls set by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.


After that, the election events began with the registration of the members of the General Assembly of Egypt Youth Parliament. The number of the e-voters was 230 out of 297 who have the right to vote, which means that 77% members cast their votes.


It's worth mentioning that Dr, Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, was shown, for the first time in the history of Egypt Youth Parliament, a review of the government program ( the Executive Authority simulation model) before the Youth Parliament ( the Legislative Authority simulation model) in one session.


Three sessions were scheduled for Youth Parliament simulation model. The first session was a protocol one, where the Minister of Youth and Sports delivered a speech before Egypt Youth Parliament.


Subsequently, the second session was about the government program which was reviewed by Rahma Abdel Halim Al-Hanafy before the Parliament. The Assembly forms a Committee headed by first Deputy Ali Saad Attia to prepare the report of the Assembly to to reply to the statement by the government.


The third session was to review the Assembly's report to reply to the government statement, then vote on the government's program.
