Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, celebrated today the International Day of peace in Ismailia within the United Nations celebrations on September 21, every year to consolidate the peace ideals among all peoples and nations.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Sherif Bechara, Ismailia Governor, Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, the Suez Canal Authority Chairman, Captain Walaa Hafez, Sameh El Shazly, the Egyptian Diving and Lifesaving Federation chairman, and the organizing companies.
The ceremony witnessed placing the largest peace mark with 501 life jackets as a new number to be registered on Guinness World records, in light of all precautionary measures announced by the World Health organization to prevent the emerging corona virus.
The Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his appreciation to all participants in this event, emphasizing the importance of spreading peace, brotherhood, love and rejecting the violence and extremism. He also drew attention to the Egyptian state’s approach to spread peace and love among all, in the light of the President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s support and moving towards strengthening diplomatic relations with all brotherly countries.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy announced the ministry’s support for the event of the longest diving and underwater survival in Sharm El Sheikh to break the world record, that will be implemented in October as part of the celebrations of the 6th of October victories, with the participation of Captain Walaa Hafez.
Captain Walaa Hafez emphasized the importance of promoting human ideals and values, peace and citizenship, and investing sport in achieving such important principles in human life. He thanked all parties who participated in organizing the sports celebration, in a message Egypt sends to the world to spread peace and love among nations.
