Sports Minister supports Amputee Football game and announces Committee formation to manage it

Today, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports met " Miracle Team" representatives of Amputee Football, at the Ministry office, to discuss their requirements and desires concerning holding local football competitions and participating in continental and international championships.


The Minister promised Miracle Team representatives to coordinate with paralympic Committee to form a football Committee for people of special needs, Amputee Football, to be responsible for the game, present a full plan to spread it, be responsible for its local competitions, follow up with The International Football Federation regarding the possibility of launching a Substantive federation, and inform about the mechanisms of participation in international competitions.


Ashraf Sobhy showed his support for Amputee Football game as it gets its players out of shell. Sobhy will work to provide their requirements and to make youth and sports facilities available for them to practice the game, in addition to coordinating with the stakeholders to finish all the necessary measures to officially announce the game on the sports arena.


The Minister of Youth and Sports affirmed the full support by the Ministry to Egypt's disabled and making the projects and programs available for them to participate in, believing in their abilities and distinguished skills in various fields, pointing to the determination of Egypt's paralympic champions to meet the challenges in various sports. He also pointed to their ability to achieve accomplishments in the various international events and that the players with only one leg will be an extension of those achievements.


The meeting was attended by trainers of Miracle Team Saif Muhammad Mahmoud and Abdullah Mostafa, from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Dr. Ahmed Haddad, Assistant Minister, Ahmed Gomaa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Muhammad Abdel Aziz, Director General of the General Administration of Substantive Federations and Sports Committees.
