Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inspected the development work of Cairo Stadium indoor halls complex, in preparation for organizing the Handball world cup competitions hosted by Egypt from 13 to 31 January, 2020. He was accompanied by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Hassan Moustafa, IHF President, Dr. Hesham Nasr, EHF president, Major General Ali Darwish, Chairman of the Cairo International stadium Authority, and a representative from Armed forces Engineering Authority.
The Prime Minister praised the quality and completion of the work carried out in preparation for this important sports tournament, both in Cairo Stadium and other facilities that will host the competitions of this tournament, stressing Egypt's ability to host this major sporting event as intended and providing all the necessary arrangements for the success of this work.
During the inspection, the Prime Minister followed up on the overall development work of Cairo Stadium indoor halls complex and listened to an explanation about its timetable, as the main Cairo Stadium indoor hall, which can accommodate 22000 spectators will host all the group matches of Egypt.
The Minister of Youth and Sports noted that the development work of Cairo Stadium indoor halls complex is proceeding of a great rate of achievement, and is scheduled to be completely done by the end of next October, pointing out that the development work includes raising efficiency of the main cabin, hall floors, developing dressing rooms, entrances for players and spectators, sound, video, and lightning systems, the public address system and interpretation system, in addition to providing a new press center, and a press conference center for journalists and representatives of satellite channels.
The Minister of Youth and Sports presented the ongoing preparations to receive Egypt's guests including players, coaches, administrators, and fans in halls that will host the tournament. He also presented the role of the volunteers for the success of this tournament, stressing the active role of the state in overcoming the obstacles facing the arrangement of this important international tournament.
