Sports Minister receives delegation of the first Egyptian football team

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, received the delegation of the first Egyptian football team coming back from Togo after beating Togo first national team in 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. 


During his meeting with the players, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy expressed, to the players and the technical and administrative staff of the team, his happiness and appreciation for their hard work, their distinguished performance, and their away victory over Togo which means that they are close to securing deserved qualification to the AFCON.  


The Minister asked them to exert more effort during the upcoming matches to please the Egyptian football fans by scoring more goals and by presenting unique performance, pointing that there is a recent development within football of Egypt, whether at the level of the first national team or the Olympic team, as well as at the level of clubs that became the most successful teams in the African continent.


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy was keen to attend the match between The Egyptian Olympic team and Brazilian team which took place at the Cairo International Stadium in the international friendly tournament which Egypt, Brazil, and South Korea participate, within the framework of preparations for the Olympic Games 2021 in Tokyo, in which the Egyptian team won over The Brazilian team with a score of 2/1.
