Sports Ministry praises the atmosphere of the historic final between the two poles of the Egyptian Football

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, praised the atmosphere of the match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the final game of the African Champions League, that was held at Cairo International Stadium, in which Al-Ahly won 2-1 over Zamalek.


Sobhy praised the competition between the two poles players and sportsmanship that was the title of the match as an affirmation of the value of the initiative” Egypt First...No to Extremism,” wishing success for the two teams in the upcoming championships. He congratulated the fans of Al-Ahly SC on winning the championship and the fans of Zamalek SC on their unique performance throughout the tournament. 


He stated that coordination has been made with the concerned authorities to ensure organizing such a major event in order to satisfy the Egyptian and African fans, weather by setting a medical preventive plan by sterilizing the stadium, changing rooms, entries and exits corridors for the players, and the press conference room. Three medical stalls included medicine and preventive medical supplies. The stadium was provided with 3 mobile clinics that included much medical staff, medicine, and preventive medical supplies. There were also 10 ambulances, including a self-sterilizing ambulance. Volunteer team followed up the implementation of these preventive measures and educated the attendees about these measures till the end of the match.


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy stressed that the victory of Egypt today proved the ability of Egypt to achieve the brilliant success for the conclusion of the tournament, stressing the ability of Egypt to host and organize major tournament.


Sobhy attended the celebration of Al-Ahly by winning golden medals and the championship trophy after the match, with the participation of officials of the Confederation of African Football, Mahmoud El-Khatib, Al-Ahly SC president, and Amr El-Ganainy, Egyptian Football Association president.


Sobhy added that the Egyptian football system deserves to be congratulated and praised and that the best gains today were obtained by the Egyptian sport rather than by the poles of the Egyptian football only, to always stress the African leadership and the global reputation of Egyptian Sports. In conclusion, he stressed that it is indeed Egypt first and not extremism.
