Ministry of Youth and Sports suspends the boards of directors of the clubs of Zamalek, Damietta, Sharkya, and Cairo because of financial irregularities

Sobhy ....The ministry in the upcoming period will witness the announcement of the results of the examination of some important sports bodies, clubs, and sports federations.



In the light of the results of the work of the financial and administrative inspection committees assigned because of the decree of the Minister of Youth and Sports no. 434 of 2020, dated September 23, 2020. The committee has many experts from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and from the Central Auditing Organization to carry out the process of financial and administrative inspection on different youth and sports bodies across the Republic. The Ministry issued the decree no. 520 of 2020 dated November 29, 2020, which included the following: 


Firstly:  In respect to Zamalek SC, it has been decided to:

Refer the financial irregularities mentioned in the reports and the violations it contained to the Public Prosecution.


Suspend and exclude the board of directors of Zamalek SC, the Executive Director and the Financial Director, whose task was to run the club affairs, temporarily until the completion of the investigation of the Public Prosecution and its results, or until the legal term of the board of directors expired.


Assign the Sport and Youth Directorate in Giza, as the competent authority, to supervise Zamalek SC, form an interim committee to run the club, and choose the one who will carry out the work of the executive director and will be added to the committee.


secondly: Temporarily suspending and excluding the boards of directors of Damietta SC, Sharkya sporting club, and Cairo sporting club, referring their violations to the Public Prosecution, and assigning the Youth and Sports Directorates, each as relates to it specifically, to form interim committees to run them until the public prosecution investigations are completed.


Thirdly:  Dissolving the boards of directors of the youth centers of Zefta, Borma, and Mit Yazid in Gharbia, Al Mina in Hurghada, Tala and Quweisna in Menofia, El Salam, Abu Soyer, Al-Bayadiya, Abou El Sid, Arab Abu Qasim, Al-Wawaburat, Abu Ayada, and Al-Mazara'a in Ismailia, Al-Majaz Al-Gharbi, and Abu Tabl in Kafr El-Sheikh, Al-Amal, Mitt Kinana, Kafr Al-Shmout in Qaliubiya, Husayniyyah in Sharqiyah, Kafr Tuhorms, Arab Al-Tal,and Sheikh Zayed in Giza, Mitt El Khouly in Damietta, Sinbalawin, Al Blassi, Sherbeen, Kafr Mitt Fatek, Qaitoun, Bsindila, 29 Basar in Dakahlia, Mansheya Nasir and Zeinhm, and Ain Shams in Cairo, Al Hawatka, Al Koum Al Ahmar, and Dakran in Assiut, Shanhour, Bahjoura, and Al Sayyad in Qena, Iqlit, Ash Sharawneh Bahary, Ash Sharawneh Qebili, Salim Jouda, Sabaaya Sharq, Awainiya, Khoury, Khawr Abu Ali, Al Ladid, New Oqiba, and Al-Hagz Qebly in Aswan, Mansheya Sharnoub in Beheira, Arraba in Sharqiya, Bahta in Sohag, and Al-Wasity in Beni Suef, and referring their violations to the Public Prosecution and assigning the Youth and Sports Directorates each as relates to it specifically, to form interim committees to run them.



The Ministry affirms that these measures come within the framework of keenness to control the financial and administrative performance of the various youth and sports bodies in all governorates according to the legally established conditions, taking into account the Ministry’s keenness to provide full support and care to the Egyptian sports and youth system to create the appropriate environment to secure the achievements and renaissance of Egypt in various fields.
