Sobhy and Hassan Mustafa hold a press conference to announce the tournament details

On Thursday Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Hassan Mustafa, the International Handball Federation President, held a press conference at the State Information Service, in the online presence of Dr. Diaa Rashwan, the State Information Service Chairman, several ambassadors of the participating countries, and the heads of the various handball federations participating and the organizing committee. This conference was to announce the details of the World Handball Championship: the precautionary and preventive measures that will be followed, the halls, and the process of entering the masses.


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, welcomed the participants in the conference, adding that organizing the championship at this time is a challenge to the Egyptian government in which the whole world suffers from the Corona pandemic. He stressed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egyptian President, pays great attention to the championship, indicating that Egypt has plans and preparations to organize various international events. The medical committee developed an integrated vision to take all precautionary measures before and during the tournament while taking the maximum medical precautions for all parties’ safety in coordination with the preventive medicine sector at the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population.


Dr. Hassan Mustafa, confirmed that the upcoming World Cup is the first to witness the participation of 32 teams instead of 24 teams only. He indicates that the whole world was affected by the Coronavirus and many tournaments delay as The Egyptian government showed an unnatural interest in organizing the championship on time.
