Ahmed Al-Ahmar is the man of Egypt and the Russian Federation match in the World Cup handball

The captain of the Egyptian handball team, Ahmed Al-Ahmar, won the man of the match between the Pharaohs and the Russian Federation at Cairo Stadium hall. 


The Egyptian handball team thrashed the Russian Federation by winning a score (28-23) in the first round in Group D of the main round, which includes Sweden, Slovenia, Belarus and Macedonia. 


The Egyptian national team appeared distinctively during the first half, led by Ahmed Al-Ahmar, and goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Tayyar, and maintained its lead until the end of the first half with a score of (8-15). 


In the second half, the Pharaohs continued to control the match, amid attempts by the Russian Federation to return to the match and reduce the difference as they were able to end the match by difference 5 goals. 


Next Friday evening at seven, the Egyptian national team will meet against its Belarusian counterpart before meeting Slovenia next Sunday at the end of its main round confrontations.


The total number of goals scored by the Egyptian national team in the preliminary round reached 96, and the Pharaohs scored 72 goals in three matches, and the Egyptian team's goalkeeper managed to stop 43 shots out of 106.
