Mohamed Salah, the national football team player and Liverpool star, was keen to send a support and encouragement message to the handball team players after honourably bidding the World Cup tournament in Egypt.
Mohamed Salah wrote on his page on Twitter: “All the greetings and appreciation to our team and our men “the stars of the Egyptian handball team” for the historic match today. I’m very proud of you and good luck on the upcoming occasions.”
On Wednesday evening 27th Jan, The national team bid farewell to the world championship, with a penalty shootout against world champion Denmark, after a 35-35 draw, during the match that brought them together. The match was held in Cairo International Stadium covered hall, in the quarter-finals of the World Hand Cup.
The two teams ruled for two additional 10-minute time and penalty shootouts after the original and additional match time had ended with a draw.
