Youth Minister and Ambassador of Spain witness the launch of a football Arabic-Spanish dictionary

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Spanish Ambassador to Egypt Ramón Gil Casares witnessed the launch of the 1st Arabic-Spanish dictionary of football terms.


 Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his happiness at launching the dictionary, which is a major step between Egypt and Spain to spread culture between the two countries and this is because the love of the two peoples to football.  


He added that the dictionary was translated from Spanish into Standard Arabic, to expand the users of the dictionary later to include all Arabic readers and speakers, which was our goal from the beginning to maximize cooperation and relations between all of us.


He concluded saying I would like to seize this opportunity to express my happiness for the cooperation between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Spanish Embassy in organizing projects and events that take place in coordination between the Ministry and the embassy in various youth and sports fields.    


During his speech, Ambassador Ramón Gil Casares welcomed Dr. Ashraf Sobhy and the attendees, adding that this dictionary is a cooperation between the Instituto Cervantes and LaLiga to support Arab sports. He indicated that the dictionary is a wonderful work and a summary of simplified terms of football and shows women's participation in sports in order to maximize her role. 


He added that the Egyptian and Spanish people love football, which is a source of happiness and joy for them, and he considers this dictionary as a link between the two peoples for more communication and closer relations between them
