Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, congratulated the national handball Olympic team and the technical staff for winning the first match held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8.
The team managed to defeat Portugal (37-31) with complete control in the second half-time. The first half-time ended a 15-15 tie and the match was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports and Engineer Hisham Hatab, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, and Dr. Hassan Mustafa, President of the International Handball Federation.
He also praised the outstanding level shown by the handball players and their keenness to win their first match in the Olympics. This performance gives a reassuring message that the national handball team can achieve a precious Olympic medal in the Tokyo Olympics, wishing the team success in its next match and win it.
He also wishes all Egyptian players to perform well noting that sports in Egypt are witnessing an excellent development under the leadership of President Abdel Fatah El Sisi.
