Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, mourned the death of Tarek Wahdan, the world champion in Paralympic weightlifting, who passed away after suffering from a health problem.
The Minister extends his sincere condolences to the player's family and the Egyptian sports family on the death of the Paralympic champion, praying to God to bless him with his mercy, and inspire his family and relatives patience.
Wahdan, born in 1998, was the first Egyptian athlete with special needs to win gold at the World Weightlifting Championships, in Mexico in 2017, and had won gold, silver and bronze medals in the competitions in which he participated, at the local, African and international levels.
