Sports Minister receives FIFA's secretary general and CAF's secretary general

Today, November 21, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, received FIFA's secretary general Fatma Samoura, Mr. Veron Oumba, Secretary-General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the accompanying delegation, at the Ministry’s headquarters, to discuss collaboration.


The meeting included a discussion of many aspects of cooperation with the International Federation and CAF, and a discussion of certain terms and conditions included in the CAF headquarters agreement, in addition of discussing some issues of common interest.


The meeting was attended by Eng. Ahmed Mujahid, President of the Egyptian Football Association, Representative Ahmed Diab, President of the Professional Clubs Association, Mr. Mohamed Said Mazen, Head of the Central Administration for Minister's Affairs, and Counselor Mohamed Diab, the legal advisor to the Ministry.


The Minister of Sports affirmed that Egypt is keen on providing all forms of support and care for the development of the African football system to put it in its global position in light of the great development witnessed by the Egyptian sports infrastructure and the administrative, technical, logistical and human capabilities that Egypt possesses.


For their part, the Secretary-General of FIFA and the Secretary General of CAF expressed thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the state and its continuous support for the African football system, pointing out that the coming period will witness many aspects of cooperation in the fields of football academies and schools in light of the keenness of the Minister of Youth and Sports to overcome all obstacles and provide capabilities through his keenness To communicate and coordinate with the various concerned authorities in Egypt to intensify aspects of joint cooperation.


At the end of the meeting, shields and souvenirs were exchanged, in appreciation of the efforts made in serving African football from both sides.
