On Tuesday evening, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, received the delegation of Egypt's karate team at Cairo International Airport after their successful participation in the Karate World Championships. It was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Egyptian mission achieved 16 different medals, including 8 medals for the male and female players in the various competitions, divided into 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals, in addition to 8 medals achieved by the national karate team with special abilities, divided into 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 3 Bronze medals.
The Minister of Youth and Sports congratulated the mission (players and technical and administrative staff) for their outstanding sporting achievement in the World Championship. He pointed out the support provided by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to Egyptian sports, and to all sports champions, which contributes to motivating and supporting athletes to achieve their goals.
He stressed the periodic follow-up of the sports federations, coordination with them, and the Olympic Committee regarding the appropriate atmosphere to implement the program and training plans specified for them.
