Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, received Dr. Magdy Abu Farikha, President of the Egyptian Basketball Association, in the presence of representatives of the National Basketball Association (NBA), prior to the launch of the press conference to announce the details of Egypt's hosting of the league's second season.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his happiness at Egypt's hosting of the "Basketball Africa League second season", stressing that Egypt has become able to host various local and international tournaments, because of Egypt's boom in infrastructure, such as the Dr. Hassan Mustafa Hall On the sixth of October, and the covered hall in the Administrative Capital, as well as Cairo State Stadium and Burj Al Arab Hall.
He explained that the Ministry of Youth and Sports supports the Egyptian Basketball Association in hosting the various tournaments, as all details of the tournament will be announced in the special press conference.
Egypt is scheduled to host the qualifiers for the African Basketball league, during the period from 4 to 19 April 2022, at Dr. Hassan Mustafa Hall on the 6th of October.
The tournament qualifiers will be held with the participation of 6 clubs from Africa, including Zamalek, the champion of the Premier League and the holder of the championship title in the last edition.
