Sobhy attends the fourth session of events of the first forum for media coordinators

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy: The Ministry’s media policy keeps pace with the technological development of the new republic. 


Dr . Mahmoud Muslim: The forum contributes to a qualitative shift to highlight the activities of the Ministry within the local community.


On Thursday, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed through video conference technology, the fourth session of the activities of the first forum of media coordinators, entitled “Egyptian media strategy in the light of the new republic: a proposed vision”, in the presence of the journalist Dr. Mahmoud Muslim, head of the Culture Committee Tourism, Antiquities and Media in the Senate, and editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper, which was moderated by Youssef Abdeen - Egyptian TV.


The Minister of Youth and Sports began his speech by expressing his sincere thanks for the participation of Dr. Mahmoud Muslim in this important forum, which is one of the pillars and plan of the Egyptian state until 2030, working on the integrated media development of the youth and sports sectors in all governorates of the Republic, especially in light of this rapid development in the media, its tools and methods.


Stressing that the process of unifying the ministry’s media policy during the current stage coincides with the rapid technological development with the Egyptian state’s vision to build a new republic with the energy of the Egyptian youth, and the ministry worked to create a clear media policy and link it with all directorates, speeding up the performance of the content of systems and activities with the digital infrastructure, in an effort to rely in the future on databases and artificial intelligence mechanisms.


Sobhi pointed out that the ministry has an insightful vision of sustainability, investing in people and empowering creative youth cadres as a pillar for sustaining media excellence, by raising the level of cooperation in the field of training, qualification, education, exchange of experiences and information, encouraging media production and media coordination, coexistence within media institutions to take the necessary and sufficient expertise of media knowledge.


Journalist Mahmoud Muslim, editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper, and head of the Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media Committee in the Senate, expressed his happiness to be with the youth media coordinators in the youth directorates, saying: “I would like to thank Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, for his kind invitation to attend the forum.”


Muslim pointed out that the media conveys reality and is more widespread and pioneer in knowledge and elevates this reality and the way of thinking and reinforces logic and rationality in it, and therefore the development of some programs has become necessary to make them more expressive of the local reality and the aspirations of society, that the media will not end as long as there is a product and news that people need To him, but the means differ according to the speed of technology, youth institutions have a great role to spread the awareness process, as well as religious, cultural and educational institutions.


He concluded his speech that the Egyptian media during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi plays a positive role by publishing and covering the giant national projects that are taking place on the ground and communicating what is happening to citizens, especially since there is a real boom taking place in several areas such as roads and bridges and the creation of new arteries for Egypt and things are changing. Perfect in this area and this is an example of the giant projects that occur on the ground.


It is worth mentioning that the forum, whose activities will continue until the 29th of this January, will hold a number of important main themes, including “media policies in light of the strategy of building a person in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030, the applications of video journalism, mobile journalism, electronic media, how to deal with social media, promotion And media marketing, ceremonies and protocols, organizing press conferences, analyzing content and measuring public opinion, and media monitoring and follow-up.
